IUB Library becomes member of IFLA

The Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) Library became an official member of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) on January 01, 2026, to align its library services with international standards through formal affiliation with the global organization for libraries and information services.
The membership enables the IUB Library to engage with international library networks, professional frameworks, and knowledge-sharing platforms associated with IFLA, supporting the development of library services in line with established global practices.
The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions is an independent, international, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established in 1927 and headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands. The Federation works to advance library and information services worldwide by promoting professional standards, supporting education and research, encouraging access to information, and representing the interests of libraries and their communities at the global level.
Through this membership, the IUB Library is positioned to participate in international professional initiatives and contribute to global discussions on library and information services.
