A delegation from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) attended a two-day Science Fair organized by St. Placid’s School and College, Chattogram, on September 24–25, 2025. The Office of Admissions, Financial Aid and International Relations (AFAIR) of IUB sponsored the fair as part of its outreach activities. The fair engaged school students in scientific activities by showcasing projects prepared by participants from five educational institutions.

Participating schools included Saint Placid's School and College (SPSC), Saint Scholastica's Girls' School & College, St. Xavier's School, Pahartali, St. Mary's School Jamal Khan Road, and Moriam Ashram High School.

The IUB delegation comprised Dr. Asma Begum, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Sciences; Dr. Md. Readul Mahmud, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Sciences; and Md. Fuad Hosen, Outreach Officer, AFAIR. They toured the exhibits with Brother Samuel Sobuj Bala, CSC, Principal of St. Placid’s School and College.

The Prize-Giving Ceremony took place on the afternoon of September 25, 2025 in the college auditorium. Professor Mohammad Forkan from the Department of Mathematics of University of Chittagong, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
