The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a half-day workshop titled “Preparing Self-Assessment Report for EEE Program for BAC Accreditation” on May 7, 2025.
The session was designed to prepare the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) for accreditation by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) through practical guidance on developing a Self-Assessment Report (SAR). It was conducted by Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Director of IQAC and Professor in the EEE Department, and was attended by all faculty members and administrative staff of the department.
In the inaugural session, Prof. Razzak explained the importance of quality assurance and the role of SAR in representing a program’s academic and administrative status. The sessions included an overview of the BAC accreditation process, detailed discussion on the structure and components of the SAR, curriculum mapping, data collection procedures, evidence compilation, and approaches to collecting stakeholder feedback.
The workshop also included a question-and-answer session and group discussion. Roles and responsibilities in the SAR preparation process were clarified. Participants were guided on best practices for aligning departmental inputs with BAC requirements.
As an outcome, a roadmap for SAR development was outlined, and faculty members agreed to form a working group to manage and coordinate SAR-related tasks. A follow-up session was proposed to review progress and maintain alignment with BAC standards.
