IQAC’s workshop on accreditation features BAC Chairman

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a workshop titled “A Roadmap to BAC Accreditation” on June 26, 2025. The event aimed to prepare faculty and academic leaders for accreditation by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) through training on national standards, course file management, and outcome-based teaching. A total of 60 members from Program Self-Assessment Committees (PSAC) of 20 undergraduate programs at IUB participated in the session.

Prof. Dr. M. Tamim, Vice Chancellor of IUB, opened the event and discussed the importance of accreditation in aligning academic quality with national and global benchmarks. Prof. Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman of BAC, attended as the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address on the BAC Act and the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF), emphasizing the need for standardization and alignment with national qualifications.

Technical sessions included a presentation by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Director of IQAC and Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at IUB, who provided guidance on reviewing course learning outcomes and managing course documentation to meet BAC requirements. Prof. Dr. Daniel W. Lund, Pro Vice Chancellor of IUB, led the final session, outlining effective and ineffective practices in teaching, assessment, and accreditation based on global models.

Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Awal Khan, Additional Director (ETL) of IQAC, moderated the workshop. The event concluded with the Vice Chancellor presenting a token of appreciation to the BAC Chairman.
