Published : 31 July 2025

Students of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) conducted a neighbourhood cleanliness drive on July 31, 2025 around its campus in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area. Themed "Inspired by July, United for Change," the initiative was part of a series of events to commemorate the historic July Movement.

The clean-up drive was led by two student clubs – Environmental Trailblazers and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at IUB (DEA IUB) – with support from the Division of Student Activities (DoSA).

Mr. Didar A Husain, Chairman of the IUB Board of Trustees, and Prof. M. Tamim, Vice Chancellor, joined the students as they removed trash from the roads. Several faculty members and university officials also participated.

As part of the initiative, several trees were planted along the roadsides to promote environmental sustainability.
