Mr. Didar A Husain, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has been elected a Member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) for the 2025-2027 term.

Mr. Lutfe M Ayub, Member of the Education Science Technology and Cultural Development Trust (ESTCDT) – the founding trust of IUB – has also been elected to the same committee.

The elections took place during APUB’s Annual General Meeting held on July 17, 2025. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University, was elected Chairman of APUB. Mr. Benjir Ahmed (North South University) and Mr. KBM Moin Uddin Chisty (Victoria University of Bangladesh) were elected as Vice Chairmen. Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin (American International University–Bangladesh) was elected as Secretary General, while Mr. Rezaul Karim (Southeast University) and Mr. Qayum Reza Chowdhury (University of Asia Pacific) were elected Joint Secretary General and Treasurer, respectively.

Founded in 2010, the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) is a platform for 111 private universities operating under the Private University Act 2010. APUB works to promote cooperation among its member institutions, engage with policymakers, and uphold academic standards in the country’s private higher education sector.
