IHRS celebrates 9-year anniversary with summer 2025 club cohort orientation

The Independent HR Society (IHRS) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) held its Summer 2025 Orientation and celebrated its nine-year anniversary on July 16, 2025, at the IUB Auditorium. The event was organized to welcome new members, introduce the newly formed Executive Body, formally conclude the term of the outgoing body, and assess the performance of the new leadership through a structured gathering involving speeches, alumni engagement, and member interaction.
Dr. Ikramul Hasan, Head IUB’s Department of Human Resource Management, opened the event, emphasizing the club’s role in academic integration and extracurricular continuity. Club Coordinator Effat Binte Kabir presented an overview of IHRS milestones and the transition process between executive bodies.
Lecturers Abdullah Al Ahad and Nabila Kamal Promy spoke about their experience advising the club and encouraged the incoming leadership to continue structured planning and delivery. IUB alum Toriqul Islam Topu shared how joining IHRS, despite being a marketing major, gave him access to academic peers, a useful professional network, and industry-relevant knowledge. He explained how this led to his internship, multiple job placements, and his current role as Senior Executive at Avery Dennison.
Co-founder and Chief Creative Advisor Tushar Roy addressed the foundational objectives of IHRS. President Shahrukh Bin Hannan Priom introduced upcoming initiatives including a CV Bank, Member Certification system, Safeguard Policy, and formal Brand Guidelines, aligned with the club’s core goals of knowledge-sharing, professional networking, and career-focused programming.
IHRS Founder and Chief Advisor Md. Aminur Rashid, Chief of Staff and Head of Business Development at Pulse Tech Ltd., delivered the keynote address and reflected on the club’s sustained development. The club’s Research and Development Advisor Mahabub Rabbani Aritro, Renewals Desk Specialist at Optimizely; and Communication Advisor Tanjila Reza, Senior Officer, Human Resources at BRAC also spoke. Alumni and outgoing executive members also shared reflections.
The event concluded with cultural performances. IHRS acknowledged support from sponsors Pathao Pay and The Business Standard.
