IPC and SONY Bangladesh organize travel photography skill development workshop

The Independent Photography Club (IPC), an active student club of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), organized “The Traveling Lens: A Travel Photography Workshop” on December 9, 2025. Organized in collaboration with SONY Bangladesh, the workshop aimed to develop practical travel photography skills among university students with guidance from professional mentors.
The workshop was conducted by Rony Sharafat and Anirban Kaisar, who led sessions on travel photography fundamentals, visual storytelling, camera equipment, and field techniques with hands-on demonstrations for participants.
Prof. Daniel W. Lund, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Dr. Imran Firdaus, Head of the Department of Media and Communication; and Refat Ara Jerin, Co-Coordinator of IPC attended the workshop.
The SONY delegation included Makiyama Kazuteru, General Manager, Imaging Marketing Division, Sony Electronics Japan; Bae Jihoon, President, Sony Singapore; Joshua Jing Xuan, Country Head, Sony Electronics Bangladesh; Alex Loon, Head of Operations, Fortune Sky Limited; Ozawa Yuki; and Negishi Masahiro. Ahsanul Kabir Pallab, Representative of Sony Bangladesh, also contributed to organizing the workshop.
Participants included members from photography clubs of North South University, American International University-Bangladesh, United International University, East West University, and Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.
The workshop was supported by IPC members, volunteers, and organizers, who coordinated logistics and activities to ensure smooth execution. The event formed part of IPC’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen collaboration between university communities and industry professionals and promote skill development in photography.
