Dr. Zakir Hossain Raju, Professor of Media and Communication at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has joined the Jury Panel for the European Film Festival 2025, being held in Dhaka on December 4–7, 2025. His role includes reviewing films submitted by young Bangladeshi creators within a defined thematic and technical framework.

Prof. Raju, Director of King Sejong Institute Dhaka 2 at IUB, will take part in jury deliberations throughout the festival and also attend the Opening Ceremony on December 4, 2025. He is scheduled to attend the Closing and Award Ceremony on December 7, 2025.

The European Film Festival, founded in 1985, operates as an international platform for presenting European cinema. The 2025 Dhaka edition includes screenings of European and Bangladeshi films and features a Mobile Short Film Competition and Filmmaking Masterclasses designed to strengthen the technical and narrative capabilities of emerging filmmakers.

The festival maintains its objective of facilitating exchanges between European and Bangladeshi film communities by providing curated film screenings, discussions, and training opportunities for participants.
