IQAC Conducts SAR Workshop for CSE Accreditation by BAETE

Published : 27 April 2025

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) conducted a workshop titled “Preparing Self-Assessment Report (SAR) of the CSE Program for BAETE Accreditation” on April 17, 2025. The session aimed to assist the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) faculties in developing the SAR required for accreditation by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), Bangladesh.

The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Director of IQAC and faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He provided guidance on structuring the SAR, aligning it with BAETE’s Outcome-Based Education (OBE) model, and addressing accreditation criteria and sub-criteria.

Faculty members were trained on mapping Course Learning Outcomes to Program Learning Outcomes, collecting and analyzing student performance data, and documenting evidence of academic quality. The session also covered engagement methods for stakeholders including students, alumni, and employers in the review process.

Practical tools and examples were introduced to help faculty navigate the technical and documentation requirements. The workshop concluded with a Q&A segment addressing challenges in aligning teaching practices with OBE and meeting BAETE standards.

The initiative supported CSE faculty in preparing for accreditation and reinforced IUB’s commitment to quality assurance in engineering education.
