Enan Israq, a student of Management Information Systems (MIS) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), won the prestigious Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury Championship Award at the Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh 2024, held online from June 7 to September 10, 2024.
Enan and his teammates from IUB, United International University (Bangladesh), and University of Putra Malaysia developed a blockchain-based decentralized e-commerce platform. He participated as the business expert of his team "Chain Reaction," which comprised students from several universities. They competed against more than 200 teams from 120 universities, showcasing innovation in blockchain technology.
The team is now set to represent Bangladesh at the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from November 15 to 22, 2024. They will compete against teams from around the world during a week-long series of tours, conferences, and demonstrations, aiming for the prestigious international title.
“As the business expert in the team, I contributed market research, business model development, and strategic planning. We advanced through multiple rounds, including submitting a whitepaper, developing a prototype, and presenting our project to a panel of experts in a rigorous final adjudication round,” said Enan, who is also a member of the IUB ARROWS program.
He also said, “Blockchain technology has immense potential, and this competition was an incredible opportunity to showcase how it can solve real-world problems. Winning this award is just the beginning.”
In April 2024, Enan triumphed in the IUB Toastmasters Club Round, winning the Area B3 Level of Division B and Division B at the District 124 Table Topic Speech Contest 2024, hosted by Toastmasters International. He also won the Outstanding Delegate Award at the House of Youth Dialogue Online Model United Nations Nepal 2020.
