CSE’s 7th On-Campus Internship Recruitment connects final year students with IT sector employers

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), in collaboration with its External Outreach Office, organized the 7th On-Campus Internship Recruitment Program from January 13–16, 2025. The program connected final-year students with leading IT companies, creating internship opportunities with prospects for full-time employment.
The event was part of a semester-wise initiative by the External Outreach Office to enhance student skills through training programs and workshops. For the Fall 2024 semester, 117 students participated in technical and soft skill training sessions before engaging in the recruitment program. The main event took place on January 15–16, where students presented their resumes and attended interviews conducted by 11 IT companies.
Participating employers included ADN Diginet Ltd., ADN EduServices Ltd., AyyKori Digital Limited, Creative IT, Datasoft Systems Bangladesh Limited, Excellent Soft (Vendor of US-Bangla Airlines), Fair Pattern, Genuine Technology & Research Limited, Sazim Tech Ltd., Shadhin Lab LLC, and Sysnova Information Systems Limited. Roles offered ranged from web and mobile application developers, SQA testers, and data analysts to front-end and back-end engineers and project coordinators.
Dr. Mahady Hasan, Head of the External Outreach Office, expressed appreciation for the industry partners' collaboration, emphasizing the importance of bridging academia and industry. He acknowledged the support from the School of Engineering, Technology, and Sciences (SETS) and the CSE Department in successfully implementing the program.
Dr. Habib Bin Muzaffar, Dean of SETS, described the initiative as a significant step toward improving employment outcomes for CSE graduates while strengthening academia-industry collaboration. He stated that this reflects IUB’s commitment to preparing students for professional excellence.
Dr. Saadia Binte Alam, Head of the CSE Department, highlighted the program's value in exposing students to industry expectations. She noted that while technical skills were evident among many participants, the event underscored the need for growth in soft skills and practical experience.
Ms. Sharmeen Islam, Deputy Director and Head of IUB’s Career Guidance, Placement, and Alumni Relations (CGP&AR) Office, commended the program for aligning academic learning with real-world opportunities, fostering student development.
Participant Sajjadul Yeamin, a 12th-semester student, expressed enthusiasm for applying his skills in a professional setting and felt the program provided direction for his career. Another 12th-semester student, Tiba Tabassum, reflected on the interviews, gaining insights into recruiter expectations and the balance between technical and soft skills.
Mr. Asif Y. Kabir, Senior Manager of Business Development at ADN EduServices Ltd., conducted a session titled "Career Launchpad: From Resume to Interview" on January 13. He emphasized the importance of refining interview skills and staying updated with technological advancements. Md. Ashikul Islam, Executive, HR & Admin at Shadhin Lab LLC, noted the value of practical experience for meeting industry standards. Mr. Kazi Asaduzzaman, Manager, Admin & Accounts at Fair Pattern, highlighted the importance of problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
The event concluded with 74 resumes collected by participating companies for further review. Employers expressed interest in offering internship placements to students across various IT and IT service-related roles.
