Prof. Dr. Razzak conducts workshop on OBE and Accreditation at BAUST

Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), conducted a day-long workshop on January 31, 2025, at the EEE department of Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), Saidpur.
The workshop, titled “Addressing Outcome-Based Curriculum, Teaching-Learning and Assessment Towards Accreditation,” focused on enhancing engineering education quality through the implementation of outcome-based education (OBE) methodologies.
Inaugurated by Brigadier General A B M Humayun Kabir, Vice-Chancellor of BAUST, the workshop aimed to support faculty members in understanding and applying OBE principles, crucial for meeting accreditation standards from national and international bodies such as the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) and the Washington Accord.
The sessions covered curriculum development, effective teaching-learning strategies, assessment methods, and accreditation processes. Faculty from BAUST’s EEE department participated in interactive sessions, engaging in discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises to better implement OBE in their courses.
The event concluded with remarks from Dr. Rubina Aktar, Head of the EEE Department at BAUST, who thanked Dr. Razzak for his insights and commended the faculty for their participation. Brig. Gen. Kabir presented Dr. Razzak with a plaque in recognition of his contributions to enhancing academic quality and assurance in engineering education.
