Vice Chancellor Prof. M. Tamim meets KSI faculty at IUB

Vice Chancellor Prof. M. Tamim met with the faculty members and the director of King Sejong Institute (KSI), Dhaka 2, at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on April 8, 2025 in his office to review Korean language instruction and cultural exchange activities implemented through KSI programs.

Eunseon Park, a newly appointed Korean language instructor, joined KSI in March 2025. Ms. Park holds an MA in Korean Language Education from Sejong University, Korea and a BA in the same field from Busan University of Foreign Studies. She is a certified Level 2 Korean Language Teacher with experience of teaching at the Foreign Workers' Support Center, Dongbu Elementary School, and Geonhwa Industry in Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea.

Another faculty member Taehyun Jeong has been teaching at KSI, IUB since May 2024. He holds a BA in Korean Studies from Korea University and a Level 2 Korean Language Teacher Certification. He previously served at King Sejong Institutes in Brazil and Jordan.

Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain Raju, Director of KSI at IUB, informed the Vice Chancellor that KSI launched its Korean language programs in January 2023 and has taught Basic to Intermediate levels to 300 students, including IUB students and community learners, with instruction delivered by four native Korean teachers. In addition to academic instruction, KSI hosts an annual Korean Speech Contest and supports participation in cultural competitions conducted by the Korean Embassy in Bangladesh.

KSI at IUB began operations in October 2022. It is currently the longest-running King Sejong Institute in Bangladesh. King Sejong Institute operates in 82 countries through 280 locations globally.
