Prof. Dr. Shahriar Khan receives Best Paper Award at IEMTRONICS 2025 in London

Prof. Dr. Shahriar Khan from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) received the “Best Paper - Reviewers Choice Award” at the International IoT, Electronics and Mechatronics Conference (IEMTRONICS) held from April 3 to April 5, 2025 at the Imperial College London, United Kingdom. He attended the conference in person and presented his paper titled “AI-Generated Personalities with Audio and Video for Companionship, and ‘Interaction’ with the Deceased.”

The conference was conducted in hybrid mode and included peer-reviewed sessions and technical presentations in the fields of IoT, electronics, and mechatronics. Professor Khan served as the Session Chair in three sessions on "Information Technology," "Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning" and "IOT & Data Science," respectively.

Prof. Khan was also the supervising author for two student-led research papers presented at the conference. These included “IOT Based Fault Detection and Monitoring System Using Raspberry Pi” by Taremun Arefin, Raafiu A. Mahmood, Salma I. Mim, and Md. Roman Khan; and “Implementation of Inexpensive Android-Based Home Appliance Control System” by Sabit Bhuiyan, Md. Masiur Rahman, and Md. Mushfiqur Rahman.

All the papers presented at the conference will be published by Springer in two volumes under the “Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering” series. The proceedings will be indexed in SCOPUS, DBLP, EI Compendex, INSPEC, JST, SCImago, WTI, zbMATH, and other databases.
