IUB Signs MoU with Kobe College, Japan

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Student Exchange Agreement (SEA) with Kobe College (KC) in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo, Japan on February 13, 2024 at the Faculty Management Lounge of IUB campus in Bashundhara residential Area, Dhaka.

The partnership involves an annual exchange of two students from each institution. Under this agreement, students from IUB will study at KC, and vice versa. The collaboration aims to provide diverse educational experiences for students and foster internationalization.

Chartered in 1948, KC is a private liberal arts college with 'university status' and a remarkable 131-year history of providing education to women. It is the first women's college with 'university status' in West Japan. It has undergraduate programs in English, Intercultural Studies, Music, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences and Biosphere Sciences.

The recent partnership, signed by KC Rev. Dr. President Keiichi Nakano and IUB Vice Chancellor Tanweer Hasan, PhD, signifies IUB's commitment to global exposure and enriching educational opportunities. The agreement was formally exchanged with KC Department of Global Studies Associate Professor Dr. Kazuyo Minamide and IUB SLASS Dean Prof. Bokhtiar Ahmed representing their respective institutions.

The exchange programs will be undertaken under self-financing, ensuring sustainability and mutual benefit for both IUB and Kobe College.
