The Independent International Business Forum (IIBF), in collaboration with the BRAC Business Club – BIZ BEE, hosted the Intra-IUB Round of the HSBC Business Case Competition 2025 by HSBC & Brac Business School from January 28 to February 10. This is the second time IIBF has organized the competition, providing students with an opportunity to analyze real-world business challenges and present strategic solutions.

The event began with a roadshow on February 3, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall of IUB, featuring two speakers from HSBC: Naziba Naila Wafa, Sustainability Manager, and Md. Ragib Rakesh, Corporate Sustainability Manager. Tarannum Azim, Lecturer of International Business at IUB and Club Coordinator of IIBF, was present at the event. The session covered corporate sustainability and evolving business strategies.

The Intra-IUB Round was held online on February 5, 2025, with over 30 teams competing. The submissions were reviewed by a panel of judges which included Saadman Salahuddin, Director of Marketing at InterContinental Dhaka; Fardeen Ameen, Gaming Business Lead at Grameenphone; Firoz Uddin Ahmed, Lead of Strategy and Projects at Shomvob; and Abir Ershad, Global Graduate (Marketing and Commercial) at British American Tobacco Bangladesh.

The top three teams from IUB, announced on February 10, 2025, qualified for the national round. They will compete against more than 60 university teams in the national round.

Team Strategy Squad comprises Sabikun Nahar Arbi (Finance), Zarisa Hossain (General Management), Sumiya Akter (Computer Science and Engineering), and Shahla Sarmin Raisha (Computer Science & Engineering).

Team IRAS comprises Nahian Islam Asif, Sapnil Sarker Pollob, Nabeel Rahman, and Abdullah Wakil, all from Finance. Team Ghorar Dim features Md Mahmudul Islam and Nayeem Ahmed (Marketing), Tanfia Khan Disha (Biochemistry & Biotechnology), and Mahmudul Islam Raiyan (Finance).
