Published : 19 March 2024

The Spring 2024 Cohort of Erasmus+ Mobility Program, comprising four IUB students from the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, have started a transformative semester abroad at the University of Maribor, Slovenia in Central Europe. The four students are Tamim Forhad Shuvo (7th semester, Major: Marketing), Punno Bikash Aaone (8th semester, Major: Finance), Maisha Tabassum (9th semester, Major: HRM), and Jannatul Ferdousy (10th semester, Major: Finance). They arrived in Maribor on February 23, 2024.

Among the four students, Punno and Tamim both have secured full funding for their academic sojourn. On the other hand, Maisha and Jannatul are recipients of zero-grant scholarships. Selected for their exceptional academic achievements and extracurricular engagements, these students are set to broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of global perspectives.

Tamim Forhad Shuvo’s curriculum focuses on Finance courses, inspired by his interest in trading and share markets. Despite initial aspirations in Marketing, Tamim found Finance more compelling and exciting once he began his undergraduate studies. Beyond academics, his interests include music and reading. Tamim, supported by the IUB ARROWS program, envisions Master's and PhD degrees, aiming for a career in academia.

Maisha Tabassum has set for the semester abroad for an extensive learning experience. Majoring in Human Resource Management, she aspires to positively impact work environments and employee development. She advocates positivity and inclusion in every aspect of her life. Beyond academics, Maisha enjoys painting, cycling, trying out new foods, and actively engaging herself with various clubs at IUB. In the long run, she envisions establishing educational institutions tailored to students' needs.

Punno Bikash Aaone’s study abroad subjects comprise Applied Business Statistics, Financial Markets, Innovation, and English for Erasmus Students. Motivated by the desire to create his own wealth, Punno engages in gaming, music, geopolitics, and physical pursuits. Inspired by the belief that a career in the financial sector will pave the way for financial independence, Punno envisions achieving financial freedom and peace in the future.

Jannatul Ferdousy looks forward to exploring subjects like Applied Business Statistics, Financial Markets, Project Management, Ethnology of Everyday Life, and History of Philosophy at the University of Maribor. Choosing finance to understand the global economy and make informed investment decisions, she added a minor in Computer Science and Engineering for technical skills in emerging technologies. She enjoys music, reading, yoga, traveling, and painting. Her aspirations include pioneering fintech innovations and developing a global mindset through the Erasmus+ program, enhancing adaptability and intercultural competencies.
