Sejong University representatives visit IUB

Prof. Seung Bin Moon, Vice President, Sejong University and Ms. Julie Pineda, Internationalization Associate, Sejong University visited Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) campus on Tuesday, 31 January 2023 at the capital's Bashundhara R.A. IUB’s Office of International Programs and Relations coordinated the meeting with Sejong University, with the goal of establishing academic and research collaborations between the universities. Sejong University is a private university in Seoul, renowned for its programs in hospitality and tourism management, graphics animation and rhythmic gymnastics.

Brig Gen (Retd) Md. Anwarul Islam, Registrar; Prof. Dr. Zakir Hossain Raju, Professor & Head, Department of Media and Communication; Dr. Mahady Hasan, Interim Dean, School of Engineering, Technology and Sciences; Prof. Md. Ashraful Amin, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering; Prof. Dr. Shahriar Khan, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mr. Obydullah Al Marjuk, Senior Lecturer, Department of Social Sciences and Humanities attended the discussion from IUB. Prof. Moon gave an overview of their institution as well as their interest in enrolling South Asian students at their university, and underscored their interest in admitting graduate students in Masters and PhD programs, particularly from IUB's School of Engineering, Technology, and Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Zakir Hossain Raju, Head of the Department of Media and Communication, IUB brought the visiting guests to the King Sejong Institute and Window on Korea corner at the IUB library along with IUB Librarian Mr. Muhammad Hossam Haider Chowdhury, PhD. The discussion was a success and has opened up avenues of prospective academic and research collaboration between IUB and Sejong University.
